  • When does the need for a Quality and Environmental department arise?

This department was started in 2006, but Isaval implemented a certified Quality Management system in 1999. In 2005, we had the certification of ISO 14001 Standard for Environmental Management. In 2009, we were certified to meet the requirements of the Construction Products Directive. In 2015, we were OHSAS 18001 certified to meet all the health and safety at work requirements. In 2016, we started to work to achieve a new goal: implementing a Management System for Social Responsibility.

  • Which are the main tasks of the Management department?

This department is responsible for ensuring correct implementation of the strategy and social policy of the company. This involves periodical check of each department for goal achievement within the established time and with the resources provided.

Over the past few years, this department has also been dealing with the following: labelling of the products we make, managing the product technical documentation, processing tests and other external certifications and processing grants and subsidies both for products and premises.

  • Which tasks focussed on the Environment and Health and Safety of workers are being carried out?

Many years ago, Isaval committed itself to anticipate the applicable legal requirements both in health and safety of workers and sustainability of our products and facilities.  In order to be ahead of these requirements, I am a member of Asefapi Technical Committee, together with other technical managers both in domestic companies and multinational groups.  This strategic plan involves a continuous change of raw materials, which are less harmful to the health and environment, and industrial equipments and facilities for higher safety and sustainability.

  • Legislation and regulations related to the production and application of the products we make are complex and also affect our customers. Therefore, your work involves a close relationship with the sales department and its customers for advice. What kind of advice do you provide?

We try to help understand the legal regulations and requirements affecting us, as producers, and our distributors and appliers. We also prepare the documentation requested to appliers at the work site, not only the product documentation but also service documentation, documentation for sustainable certifications type LEED, BREAMM and VERDE, which is more and more implemented, and help distributors comply with all legal requirements.
